I love doing bridal sessions with my couples before their wedding days and always encourage my couples to make it a priority if they can. There are so many reasons to have a specific session just for your bridals and formals, take a look below!

Intimate First Look Session

The first time your husband sees you in your wedding dress can be incredibly romantic and emotional. He is visually seeing you for the first time as his literal bride! Having a bridal session prior to your wedding day allows you to share in this moment with just the two of you (+ me!) or with the small group of people you've invited to join you

Using a Special or Meaningful Location

When you do a separate bridal session from your wedding day, you are able to choose a location that means something to you. Do you, as a couple, love Southern Utah red rocks? Or maybe there is a meadow or lake where you had your first date? Or maybe there is just a spot you absolutely love! Whatever the reason, you can choose a location specific for your bridal and formal photos.

Can Choose Time of Day for Best Lighting

Unexpected things always come up on a wedding day, and the day can easily go from easy and well planned to chaotic as everyone tries to follow the timeline as best they can. No matter how well you plan, just assume it won't go 100% exactly according to plan. Wedding days usually take the entire day, or most of it. Due to this we are shooting throughout the day which means you don't always get the best lighting...especially if it's a full sun, mid day, zero shaded outdoor ceremony and party. This doesn't mean your photos won't turn out great (b.c they will!) but you don't necessarily get to choose to have that gorgeous, romantic soft light that comes from shooting at the best time for the location. When you choose to do a separate bridal session, we have a lot more control. Once we have the location chosen, we can choose a time where the lighting will be best at that specific spot. That way you get those soft gorgeous photos you can't wait to hang on your walls!

Curb the Chaos

Like mentioned above, having a specific bridal session can help curb the chaos on the wedding day. We will always get couples photos on your wedding day (as long as you want them), but if you've already had a beautiful bridal session, you may decide to do a shorter wedding day couples session and spend the majority of your time with your friends and family who have come to celebrate you! Knowing that you still got wedding day photos of the two of you, but also have an entire gallery from your previous bridal session

Using Your Bridals for Decoration

Having a bridal session before your wedding gives you the opportunity to use beautiful photos of you and your husband in your wedding attire to decorate your wedding with! And then after the wedding, you already have your favorites printed to hang in your home!

I always work to fit in some couples photos on your wedding day, but having a separate bridal session gives you another private, no stress, beautiful opportunity to get photos of you and your fiancé. What do you think? Would you do a separate bridal session?
